Amanda Shadowens AIA, LEED AP

Amanda believes that every project, regardless of size, should incorporate thoughtful design, allowing the space to represent the user’s personality while creating meaningful architecture. With experience in a broad range of projects including commercial, adaptive reuse, higher education, private residences, and financial and cultural institutions, she strives to be intentional through the design process no matter the project type or scale.

During her studies at the University of Tennessee, her appreciation for nature grew as she fell in love with the Great Smoky Mountains. Now as an outdoor enthusiast, Amanda searches for the opportunities architecture has to highlight and positively impact the natural environment as well as the users’ experience. Gaining an understanding of the local habitat, whether that be city streets or rural landscapes, allows her to make connections between the user and their surroundings.

Over the last 17 years, Amanda has worked for both large and small firms in New York and Nashville, leading teams from early design through construction. Through this experience, she has found that communication and kindness create lasting relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors. Her measure of a successful project is when everyone can walk away with new friends.

Jamie Sinz AIA

Jamie approaches design from the occupants’ perspective by incorporating subtle details that guide them between spaces, enhancing their overall perception. She studied architecture at the University of Tennessee, and then worked at nationally recognized firms in Portland, Oregon, San Francisco and Nashville. She has led both small and large projects including private residences, boutique hotels, rural retreats, restaurants, retail, parks, and educational and cultural institutions.

As a seasoned traveler, Jamie is inspired by local cultures and history, from the cobblestone streets and grand cathedrals of Europe, the bustling markets of Southeast Asia and India, to the utilitarian government buildings and infrastructure of China and Japan. Since moving back to Nashville, she has used her experiences to connect with her clients while bringing a wholistic point of view into her work.

Jamie also understands the importance of teamwork across trades. For her, the most successful and rewarding projects result from a strong collaboration between the client, architect, consultants, contractor and the community.
